Conclusion

Fundamental differences between the underlying infrastructure of webcast and traditional television prohibits using a television production model for webcasts without modification. We propose a webcast production model that addresses these differences. The model is composed of three stages: sources, broadcast, and transmission. We have developed the Director's Console, a webcast production tool, to demonstrate the effectiveness of this model. Dc is of a distributed client/server system organized under a webcast service architecture. The service architecture provides fault tolerance and dynamic adaptation to a changing physical infrastructure.
