This page gives advice on connecting audio and video devices to a computer for use with Open Mash. The advice given reflects our testing and experience with various chips, boards, and drivers.

Audio Input/Output Devices

The following audio devices are supported under Linux.

• CS461x chipset
• Ensoniq ES1371
• SoundBlaster Live EMU10000

The following audio devices are supported under FreeBSD.

• CT5880-C
• Ensoniq ES1371
• SoundBlaster 16 PnP

The following audio devices are not supported.

• Yamaha OPL3-SAx
  This device only works when forced into half-duplex audio mode.
• Yamaha DS-1E
  Mash does not support audio samples at greater than 8KHz.

Video Input Devices

The following video input devices are supported.

• Bt848/Bt878
