Humm? On NN for the MAC, it doesn't look like one can pass a parm when
launching the application... so the above can't be replicated directly.

Done, waiting for a response... however, my NN/RP8 combo is playing Real
Network's smil examples fine -- even if I don't have an application/smil
mime type defined in my browser.
I am beginning to think this is a problem on how the smil file is being
referenced on the BIBS web page. After all, Tim played under Linux but by
loading a copy of the smil file from RealPlayer. And I can do likewise in
my Macintosh. It is or used to be the case that you couldn't embed a smil
file directly on a web page, but had to "embed the SMIL presentation
indirectly using an .rpm file" -- according to an old tech article on Real
Networks problem database.
