Greg -
I agree with all of your points. I'm hoping to do a
lecture+slides on some of the basic tcl/tk, otcl, and
tclcl material. One of the things I hope comes out of
the retreat in July is some more material.
As for the release, I agree, the material on the web
site is just the basic www-mash material. We're
trying to integrate fixes for all the platforms at the
same time. My plan is to have a first alpha release
ready for the retreat. The retreat should produce
some useful material for the website. Also, I'm
spending a lot of time here in Tahoe
reading/modifiying and working with the code. I wanted
to produce some more small examples, but I'm spending
more of my time working on the Video4Linux video
device abstractions for the LML33 board and the new
Hauppage (Viewcast) board.
You asked about a sexy demo. Why don't you try to
create a desktop interface to a large number of video
sources. Think about the operations that someone
might want to do -- e.g., cut/paste streams between
different multicast sessions, save a stream to a file
for replay (sort of a desktop tivo/replay tv) and
attaching filters/predicates to streams that will do
something when a particular event happens.
