Mash 5.2 testing request

Wow, there are more people subscribed to this mailing list than I
realized. I hope you all know that openmash-testers is intended for
people who are willing to help test the Mash tools. :)

I've made a trial build of Mash 5.2 for Windows. There are some new
features we'd like to see exercised before we release Mash 5.2.

If you have some time, please test the following if possible:

1. See if the new vic with DirectDraw support works on your machine.
It's easy to tell if it's working--it'll either draw video or it won't.
Please check to make sure it's using DirectDraw by right-clicking on
vic in the Taskbar and choosing Show Mash Console. The console should
say whether or not vic is using DirectDraw.

2. If you have a multiple monitor setup, please check to see if vic
works ok with it. Try placing the vic windows on other monitors and
straddling the boundaries between monitors. This testing is very
important because we don't have much to test on at Berkeley.

3. Try vic with an RTPtv stream. I've left one running at
233.0.25.25/22334. It's showing CNN (video only).

4. Try the new autoplace feature. Just hit 'a' on your keyboard when
the main vic window is frontmost. Try it with lots of streams if you
can. If you can try it with lots of streams and multiple monitors,
that'd be great.

The Mash 5.2 trial build (for Windows only) is at:

<http://www.openmash.org/download/5.2/mash-bin-5.2-win32.exe>

This is not a full Mash binary package. It does not contain the usual
installer and it only has nsdr, vic, and vat. Please trash it when
you're done testing.

Please send email back to me to let me know if it worked ok.

Thanks!
