Yeah, I'm the guilty party--I removed the offending lines from CVS.  The
code is there from my attempts to add support for sap "sub-directories" to
nsdr. This code was added awhile ago, but since that time no one has made
any sap announcements in a subdirectory.  As a result, this is another
feature in mash that I/we haven't been able to test yet.
