snap_sds on media0
Well, Matt and I tried to set up the snap_sds service on media0 under
the management of init, to ensure it is always running.
We ended in failure: the smash process would just segfault when started
this way. I ran it manually and we should check on it tomorrow.
Two drawbacks to this approach (using init) seem apparent:
1) init runs the smash process as root, which makes me uncomfortable.
2) sometimes, when the leaking smash consumes all virtual memory the
system kills some other process first. Last time on media0 it was the
syslogd.
It shouldn't be difficult to solve #1, but I think the answer to #2 is
to fix the smash memory leak.
