Denis, we had a problem with the new Real8 server last week that
wouldn't handle multiple RAID arrays on different drive letters (server
is currently WNT4, moving to Linux eventually). As a result, only the
most recent semester lectures played correctly. The previous semester
video played using the HTTP transport as you diagnosed. The problem got
fixed, I think, so you should be able to play just fine now. Looking at
the server right this minute, there are only about 8 people playing
videos, so I'm surprised you had problems initiating a playback.
I don't know anything about the caching server your ISP is using.
You'll have to figure that one out.
