Re: Berkeley MIG Seminar
hi greg -
can you send me some details on what version of the real server you're
using? this morning the 350 kbs stream is coming through fine - no
problems. i'll leave it up to test the behavior during the day.
one thing that might make sense is to try the test again at a higher
bitrate. say 600 kbs, then 800 kbs, and then 1,000 kbs. i'm convinced
that the buffering problem in the server is leading to the player drops
we observe. denis said there is a fbsd program called dummynet that
allows one to adjust delay and loss of packets for testing. sounds like
we might want to run some tests with that at some point.
lastly, can you add a link to your RN web page to launch the RealPlayer
automatically. here's what it should look like
<a
href="http://viper1.ecn.purdue.edu:8080/ramgen/encoder/viperlab-soft.rm">rm</a>
this ought to launch the RealPlayer externally and pass it the
appropriate rtsp link to connect to the live feed.
