Re: MIGS Multicast 11/22/00
A couple of things about the multicast -- I was pretty much the only
one this time, I think with pretty good reason: none of the mbone audio
seemed to be going out. Is there any way to get the audio box on
the same subnet as the video? I'm thinking I could have used some
of that 1 Mbps + bandwidth today. The mtraces that I ran indicate
there was no audio data coming out of Berkeley.
Also, I paid a lot more attention to the Real webcast this time -- for
obvious reasons -- and it seems it still goes into the "buffering
cycle of death" about every five minutes or so. It seems to only
happen with live webcasts, not prerecorded stuff. Are there any
statics on the server to back up my claim? It is really anoying to
have to start up Real every 5 minutes or so, since that is the only
way I've been able to clear the problem.
Finally, I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving and don't forget
to each your MASH'd potatos! ;-)
