Mash 5.1.5 -- "One small step for Mash"
Despite the long wait, Mash 5.1.5 is being released a little before its
time. This release is more of a work in progress than previous Open
Mash releases.
Mash now uses the latest versions of Tcl/Tk (8.3.3), OTcl (1.0a7), and
TclCL (1.0b11). Mash has also switched to using dynamic linking for
the standard Unix libraries. These changes will lead to a more solid
foundation for the future.
Mash developers pitched in with a few other notable changes. Peter
Pletcher helped make Solaris a supported platform again. Wesley Miaw
incorporated a post-DCT deblocking algorithm by Jim Chou. This
smoothing can be enabled by using the Modes menu attached to vic
windows. José María González cleaned up the way some objects are
destroyed, paving the way for switching multicast sessions on-the-fly.
The Windows binary is now distributed as a self-extracting Zip file.
And, of course, there were a few bug fixes.
