Mash 5.1.2 -- "Warnings? We don't need no stinking warnings."

I'm pleased to announce that the first release from the Open Mash
consortium is now available.

Binaries for FreeBSD, Linux, and Windows are available, with the usual
installer. Source code is also available, of course.

We are still picking up the pieces left by the old Mash research group,
but we've made some good progress. Hundreds of compiler warning
messages from gcc and Visual C++ have been eliminated by cleaning up
the code. Small but noteworthy performance fixes from Hank Magnuski,
Tim Fitz, and Matt Delco have been incorporated. The major tools
(nsdr, vic, vat) have passed preliminary testing on Windows 95, NT,
98, 2000, and Me.

We still have a lot of work to do, but we're rolling now. Expect our
release cycles to be much faster now. And, oh, did I mention that we
have a spiffy new website thanks to our webmaster, Obadiah Greenberg?

Enjoy the new version, and be sure to tell us everything that's wrong
with it. :)
